Inspired by MLSFF: Incredible conferences everywhere but no-one knows - until now
Just six months on, MLSFF26 has already inspired its first business idea.
Delegates Syed Ayaan Reza and Phoebe Davis reveal how they got the idea to launch their digital platform Conflo.
“ConFlo started with one realisation at MLSFF 2025 - incredible conferences were happening everywhere, but no one knew. We’re here to change that,” says Syed Ayaan Reza.
ConFlo is an emerging digital platform designed to make STEM conferences more discoverable, accessible, and engaging.
By bringing events from across the globe into one central hub, the platform is designed to help individuals find conferences that truly align with their passions, research interests, and career goals.
“Our focus goes beyond convenience - it’s about creating a culture of inclusion and connection within the scientific community,” Phoebe says.
The spark for ConFlo began at the Minorities in Life Sciences Future Forum (MLSFF) 2025, an event that deeply inspired the team.
“It was an extraordinary space - filled with energy, innovation, and representation,” says Syed.
“Yet it revealed a challenge that couldn’t be ignored: so many people told us they only heard about the forum after it had happened. It wasn’t just this one event - it reflected a wider pattern. Too many brilliant minds were missing out on equally brilliant opportunities simply because they didn’t know they existed.
“That realisation became our mission. We set out to change how people discover and connect with conferences - to make these experiences more visible, inclusive, and engaging for everyone, everywhere.”
Since then, ConFlo has grown from an idea into a developing enterprise with a clear purpose: to ensure that no event of value is ever missed.
“Through smart design, accessible technology, and a commitment to equity, we’re helping the global STEM community connect in new, meaningful ways - ensuring that innovation truly flows to everyone,” Phoebe says.
